Swimming!

We are all very excited about swimming tomorrow.  Please ensure children have their togs, towel and a swim bag.

Thanks to those who have offered to help with transport.

Will take some photos to put on the blog so you can see just how wonderful it is with Easyswim.

5 minute test

We tried something a little different this week - the children had no teacher prompts during writing. This resulted in a lower average of 35 words per child, and 813 words in total. Even so, many children wrote close to their personal best, and the following children all wrote a new high score: Izzy, Emily, Amalia. Well done girls!

Blown Away

Many children wrote a personal best or close to it this week. 21 children wrote a total of 852 words. That's an average of 40 words per child. The following children all wrote a personal best: Kayla, Lea, Candayce, Cameron, Jessica, Jacob, Izzy, Xavier and Max. I am very impressed with Jacob and Lea who each wrote 70 words or more. Well done to all the children. The word family and spelling knowledge is improving each week.

Olympic Spellers

Another great effort this week - 21 children wrote 849 words for a class average of 40 words each. These children wrote a best ever this week: Toma, Rielly, Kayla, Lea and Xavier. These children wrote more than the class average: Dylan, Fynn, Izzy, Jacob, Jessica, Kayla, Lea, Max, Rielly, Will, William and Zac. I am very impressed with the number of words written, there are some super spellers in Room 6 who are using their knowledge of word families to help them spell.

An epic week of spelling

This week nearly half the class wrote a personal best or equalled one. The class wrote a total of 937 words in the 5 minutes allowed, which is about 40 words per child. The following children all deserve a special mention for writing a personal best: Dylan, William, Toma, Micah, Max, Izzy, Rielly, Kayla, Jacob and Jethro. I wonder if together we can write a thousand words before the end of the year.
